Unico Wilhelm van Wassenaer (1692-1766, Dutch)

A Dutch nobleman and, famously, the composer of the “Concerti Armonici” long attributed to Pergolesi, and whose rightful authorship was determined only in 1980.

His Sonatas for recorder and continuo were discovered in 1992, and with the Concerti are the only known works of Van Wassenaer. They are agreeable salon music, but don’t scale the heights of, say, Vivaldi’s chamber music.
