Robert Nasveld (1955, Dutch)

I knew Robert Nasveld mainly as a pianist – especially for his recording of George Crumb’s Makrokosmos I & II for the label Attacca Babel, 8528-3, reissued on two CDs with Crumb’s complete works for one piano, Attacca Babel 9371-72, no barcodes – but he’s also a composer. You can read his complete bio and much more on his website. The only piece of his that I’ve heard is the Three Pieces for two pianos eight-hands from 1982, played by the Dutch Pianist’s Quartets (of which he is one of the members) on Works for two piano eight hands with pieces by Theo Loevendie, Ton Bruynèl, Ravel, François-Bernard Mâche and Graham Fitkin, again on Attacca Babel 9481 (1994).
