Naïve Waltz, a short piece for string quartet played by The Smith Quartet on their recital CD “Dance” on Signum Classics – a program of “Classical meets World- and Dance-Music” from 2011 – is the only piece I know of Aussie Elena Kats-Chernin. “Naïve” indeed: it sounds like Nyman in his most sentimental and film-music streak. I hope this is not entirely representative of the composer.
